    vision & mission

    Vision Statement

To create a future where wildlife thrives in harmony with people, ecosystems are resilient and self-sustaining, and every citizen values and participates in the conservation of Haryana’s natural heritage. We envision Haryana as a model state in biodiversity stewardship—where forests, wetlands, grasslands, and wildlife corridors are protected, restored, and celebrated as vital to environmental health, climate resilience, and cultural identity.

    Mission Statement

The mission of the Wildlife Department of Haryana is to:

    • Conserve and protect the state’s wild flora and fauna through effective implementation of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and other relevant laws.
    • Ensure scientific management of protected areas, Eco-Sensitive Zones (ESZs), and key biodiversity habitats, while restoring degraded ecosystems.
    • Promote eco-tourism and nature education that fosters awareness, appreciation, and sustainable use of wildlife resources.
    • Prevent illegal wildlife trade and regulate exotic species in alignment with CITES and global conservation treaties.
    • Build resilient human-wildlife coexistence models by proactively addressing conflict situations and ensuring timely rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
    • Empower and involve local communities and stakeholders through training, eco-development, and participatory conservation initiatives.
    • Contribute to national and global environmental goals, including biodiversity conservation, climate action, and sustainability through data-driven policy, innovation, and collaboration.
