Crocodile Breeding Centre, Bhor Saidan
Bhor Saidan Crocodile Farm located 22 km from Pehowa-Kurukshetra road, consists of
number of crocodiles, which was brought earlier from Madras Crocodile Bank.Located
22 km away from and on Pehowa-Kurukshetra road, at Bhour Saidan village is Bhor
Saidan Crocodile Farm. In 1982, the Forest Department took its management in their
control. The center comprises a wild pond that used to rear crocodiles. Four pairs of
crocodiles brought here from Madras Crocodile bank, and they were left here, now their
number has been increased to 25 including 10 males, 4 females, and 11 young crocodiles.
The department got sand of partition bandh of two ponds and desilting of water oxereny
inside the Crocodile Breeding Centre, Bhor Saidan, Kurukshetra. In future, many
proposed works like Stone Patching, removal of water weeds, kamal dodi ete. will be
done in Crocodile Breeding Centre, Bhor Saidan, Kurukshetra. Presently bamboo plants
(Dendrocalamus strictus, Bambusa bambos, Bambusa tulda, Bambusa balcoa, Bambusa
nutans species) have been planted last month for habitat restoration, because bamboo ie!
valuable resource for wildlife, offering both food and shelter in forest ecosystems. 1,100
bamboo plants have been planted in | hectares area of CBC Bhor Saidan, Kurukshetra.
Other works related to maintenance of bamboo will also be done by the department as
per the requirement.
